Book Happenings

It’s been a while since I updated my blog to include information about my book  Next Year I’ll be Perfect.  I don’t think I’ve posted anything new since my book launch party, so I thought now might be a great time to bring everyone up to date.

Chick Lit Plus Blog Tour:  February 4 – February 18

I am very excited to announce a blog tour for Next Year I’ll be Perfect that starts on February 4th.

What’s a blog tour, you ask?

Well, between Feb 4 and Feb 18, a number of different bloggers are going to devote their time and space on their blog to Next Year I’ll be Perfect.  Some folks are going to review the book or include excerpts while other folks have interviewed me over the last few weeks and will include my answers on their site.  Still other bloggers are giving me the opportunity to write a guest post on their blog – all in the hopes of finding new readers.

Check out this site for all of the exciting details!

Reading and Signing

I have my first official book reading scheduled for February 8!  I will be giving a brief talk about Next Year I’ll be Perfect followed by a reading at the Portland Public Library as part of the Friday Local Author Series.

The event is free and open to the public, but I will also have books available for purchase if anyone is interested.  Also, it is taking place between 12 and 1, so feel free to bring your lunch.

If you are anywhere near the Portland, Maine area, please attend!  There are not enough therapists in the world to keep me functioning if I have to read my book to an empty room.

No pressure or anything…

Social Media

To help reach out and find new readers, I’ve been trying to increase my social media visibility.  You can check out my progress in the following ways:

I currently have over three million followers on Twitter and often find my tweets re-tweeted by the likes of Kim Kardashian, Taylor Swift and on one occasion, President Obama.

Ahem…

Actually, none of that is remotely true.

If you do follow me on Twitter, though, I can promise you’ll find a good amount of celebrity gossip, writing quotes, links that will hook you up with talented authors I know, and random snark.

My boards pretty much consist of pictures of actors, things that make me laugh and a bookcases I want in my dream home.  I’m just starting to branch into recipes.  I’m starting to spend more time on Pinterest, though, and am always looking for tips and clever things to pin, so follow me and I’ll follow you back!

Amazon Reviews

Finally, I just have to share that Next Year I’ll be Perfect continues to receive wonderful customer reviews on Amazon.  As of today it has received EIGHTEEN 5-star reviews.  I am overwhelmed and amazed by that fact.

Some of the quotes include:

  • “A true page-turner that I could not put down”
  • “This book is a must read”
  • “The characters were lovable, relationships were believable, and the story flowed along at the perfect pace.”
  • “Full of wit and heartfelt emotion, the novel keeps the reader entertained until the last page!”
  • “I was sorry when the story ended – I felt like the characters had become friends.”
  • “I LOVED IT! I could not put the book down!”
